2011 Mission; Your Church Can Thrive!

with guest speaker Harold Percy.

We were fortunate enough to have Harold Percy visit our churches to lead a mission that focused on helping us to answer tough, critical, and strategic questions about our ministry and mission. We looked at topics such as "How do we serve the member in the pew, the casual visitor, family and friends of the congregants, and the neighbourhood beyond? These are where connections that build healthy congregations are make and nurtured."

His book can be purchased from Rev. Rob, at your local Christian bookseller or online here.

"Canon Dr. Harold Percy is the rector of Trinity Anglican Church, Streetsville, and was the first Director of the Wycliffe College Institute of Evangelism. He is the author of Following Jesus: First Steps on the Way (1993), Good News People (1996), and Your Church Can Thrive (2003). Harold and John Bowen, the present Director, are proud grandfathers to Owen Percy, born February 28 2010 to Benjamin Percy and Anna Bowen"

The idea behind the Amazing Grace Project was that all Canadian Anglican congregations were invited to sing the hymn “Amazing Grace” on Sunday November 23rd 2008. Here is the video of the St. George's Choir and their handbell choir, accompanied by the congregation. For more information, visit http://archive.anglican.ca/amazinggrace/

Our Community

Saint John West is a priority neighboorhood.  With our eyes towards Jesus, WAM tries to be an outreach based group.  We want to offer a safe place for our community to reach out to us for all their needs.  Each Sunday at 4:30  we put on a wonderful  community meal called our George's café.  We also endevour to maintain adaquate supplies for our EMERGENCY food program, which we have named "Howards Pantry". Check out all the latest news and events from our community.

We welcome everyone to our worship service in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

All are welcome to Holy Communion. We extend a special welcome to visitors and those new to our parish.

You are all invited to participate in the Holy Eucharist.

Services:

Morning Prayer is celebrated each Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 a.m.

Contemporary Worship Service of Holy Eucharist will be held Saturday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Traditional Sunday Said Service of Holy Eucharist will be held Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.
